Clarke Fest – April 20

On April 20, Clarke Fest is back on Clarke Drive for its 4th annual celebration! This street festival is open to everyone and will take place from 4-7 p.m. in the Robert and Ruhl Kehl Center on the Clarke University campus. Guests can enjoy family-friendly games, crafts and entertainment, including free performances from local musicians. Some of Clarke’s fantastic student work will also be on display, from musical performances and artwork for sale, to the premiere of Clarke Cast & Crew’s Eggscruciating Dinner: A Hare-Raising Murder Mystery. 

In addition, some of Dubuque’s best-loved food trucks will be parked on Clarke Drive, including:
Hibachi TimeAdobos  • Hangry HoboVesperman’s Ice Cream

The event is co-sponsored by Arts at Clarke, Clarke Activities Board, and Clarke Student Association.

Clarke Print Fest with Louise Art + Design

Witness the creation of impressive 60 x 30″ blocks at the Blue Kiefer Building, nestled between Mary Fran and Burrows Field. Featuring talented print artists from Clarke Art + Design, Wahlert Catholic High School students, and a beloved alum, this event aims to highlight Endangered Species in the Upper Midwest.

Generously supported by an Iowa Arts Council Project Grant.

Art Sale

Beginning at 4 p.m.

View and purchase student work including screen prints, pottery, sculptures, and more. Proceeds will benefit student artists as well as department initiatives.

 

Clarke Jazz and Melos

CLARKE JAZZ is a student ensemble that focuses on jazz styles and some pop/rock music.

CLARKE MELOS prepares contemporary vocal literature, focusing on popular, jazz, and Broadway styles.

Your ticket to tropical bliss! Led by Chad Bartell from Madison, Wisconsin, this ensemble specializes in delivering the ultimate beach vibe through joyful renditions of calypso and tropical classics. Founded in 2017, they feature top instrumentalists, including Chad’s brother Nicholas Bartell on steelpans and flute, and Eric De Los Santos on marimba. Get ready to kick off your shoes and dance to the rhythm of paradise with Toco Beach Steelpan!

Step into the tumultuous world of the Smith Family Easter Dinner, where tensions simmer beneath the surface and secrets lurk in every corner. As the evening progresses, a shocking incident shatters the festivities, leaving someone’s head resting on a silver platter.

Amidst the chaos, accusations fly and alliances crumble as the family races against time to unravel the mystery. But as the truth slowly emerges, it becomes clear that Granny’s cherished recipes aren’t the only secrets waiting to be uncovered this Easter. Attendees will also get in the fun as the characters plead their case and allow the audience to decide their fate.

This production is not only written but also led by Clarke University students, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience tailored specifically to our Clarke community. This event will take place in Jansen Music Hall.
