The Clarke College Drama Department will present “Two Rooms” by Lee Blessing from Thursday, Feb. 19, through Sunday, Feb. 22, in Terence Donaghoe Hall on the Clarke campus. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Feb.19- 21 and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 22. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.
Blessing’s provocative and compelling drama “Two Rooms” examines the emotional journeys taken by both an American hostage being held captive in an empty room in Beirut and that of his wife who, in order to be closer to him, has recreated her husband’s holding cell in the office of her own home.
Cast members for the production include: Valerie Heitzman, of Dubuque, Iowa, in the role of Ellen; Erin Kane, of Dubuque, Iowa, as Lainie; Gage Steenhagen, of Roland, Iowa, as Michael; Joey Stamp, of Waterloo, Iowa, as Walker; and Alison Ott, of Dubuque, Iowa, as Cellist.
Clarke Assistant Professor of Drama Joe Klinebriel, MFA is directing the show and Ellen Gabrielleschi, MFA, chair and associate professor of drama, is once again the technical director, scenic designer, and lighting designer. Elizabeth Spoerl, of Sherrill, Iowa, will serve as the assistant to the director and stage manager of the performance.
