Clarke College will celebrate its annual Homecoming this weekend, September 25-27, with a full slate of activities for alumni, students and friends of the college.
On Saturday, the college will host an Alumni Recognition Brunch at 10:30 a.m. in the Student Dining Room on the Clarke campus. During the program, Clarke will present its annual distinguished alumni awards. Advance registration is required for the brunch.
Patricia McKevitt ’67 will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award. For the past 36 years, McKevitt has enjoyed a social work career focused on working with and advocating for patients with kidney failure. Last year, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award for the National Kidney Foundation’s Council of Nephrology Social Workers.
Juanita Baschiere Wilcoxon ’59 will receive the Humanitarian Service Award. A religious education catechist for more than 30 years, Wilcoxon has dedicated her life to faith and education. She continues to hold leadership and instructional positions working with children and adults in sacramental preparation and other formational roles.
Also on Saturday, an alumni tent party and carnival will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on “The Hill” in conjunction with women’s and men’s Crusader soccer games beginning at 1 and 3 p.m. Members of the Dubuque community are invited to these events. An alumni art sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the College’s Atrium Conference Room and a there will be special liturgy at 5:30 p.m. in Clarke’s Sacred Heart Chapel.
