The Clarke College Drama Department will present “Spoon River Anthology” by Edgar Lee Masters from Thursday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 11, in Terence Donaghoe Hall on the Clarke campus. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 8-10 and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 11. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.
In the show, Master’s poetry classic is brought to life via musical interludes as audience members are introduced to the departed citizens of a now ghost town. The citizens each have their own stories involving dreams, betrayal and the humorous side of life.
Cast members for the production include Clarke students: Rebecca Brosnan, of Algona, Iowa; Max McNett, of Evansville, Wisconsin; Allison Ott, of Dubuque, Iowa; Austin Rea, of Lodi, Wisconsin; Brandon Running, of Eagan, Minnesota; Beatrice Schares, of Plattsburgh, Iowa; Elizabeth Spoerl, of Sherril, Iowa; Joey Stamp, of Waterloo, Iowa; Gage Steenhagen, of Roland Iowa. The performance will also feature recent Clarke graduate Erin Kane, of Dubuque, Iowa. “Spoon River Anthology” is directed by Clarke Professor of Drama Carol Blitgen, BVM, Ph. D., and the assistant director is junior Kayla Damisch, of Victor, Iowa.
