Clarke College will host a presentation by Gail Coury, a 1977 graduate of Clarke and vice president of global IT security for Oracle on Monday, October 26, at 7 p.m. in Jansen Music Hall on the Clarke campus. The presentation is entitled “Strategies for Managing Risk and Thriving in a Dynamic Environment.” The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
During the presentation, Coury will discuss the IT transformations that have powered Oracle’s continuing leadership as the world’s largest enterprise software company. She will also field questions at the end of her presentation.
Coury has over 20 years experience in information security infrastructure systems and network management, security technical consulting, information systems auditing, and programming. Industries include enterprise application software, airline reservation systems, insurance, banking, and retail sales.
Coury leads the risk management function for Oracle Global IT. This includes Security Strategy, Security Solutions, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Services, and Audit & Compliance. She is the former CISO for PeopleSoft and former CISO for J.D. Edwards. She received her bachelor’s degree in management science and computer science from Clarke and is an alumna of the Stanford Executive Program of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford College.
