Clarke Exhibit Looks at ‘One Big Happy Family’

posted on March 4, 2010

The Clarke College Art Department will host “One Big Happy Family,” a senior bachelor of fine arts painting exhibit by Patsy Goffinet now through March 20 in the Quigley Gallery on the Clarke campus. A reception for the artist will be held on Friday, March 19, from 7-9 p.m. in the gallery. Admission to the exhibit and reception are free and the public is invited to attend.

This exhibit features oil paintings by Goffinet with the gallery set up as an actual living room to create the illusion that it is a part of a family's house. “In every family or relationship there are conflicts and we can’t always hide behind portraits with fake smiles that hang on a wall,” said Goffinet. “With my paintings, the secrets and struggles will be put on display.”

The Quigley Gallery is open Monday through Friday from noon-5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. For more information, contact the Clarke College Public Relations Office at (563)588-6318.
