The Clarke University Art Department will host a faculty art exhibit by Assistant Professor of Art Eric Wold, MFA. Wold, who teaches graphic design at Clarke, will present the exhibit entitled “Index & Artifact, A New Mythology,” from Sunday, September 11, through Friday, September 30 in Clarke’s Quigley Gallery. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Wold’s exhibit will feature many of his pieces from the past four years, portraying his journey from his home in Arizona to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and then here to Dubuque. There will be approximately 30 pieces in what Wold calls “an assemblage of creative inquiry, experimentation and research.” On September 19, he will host a meet and greet with area designers.
On September 24, in conjunction with Clarke’s Homecoming Weekend, there will be a reception for the exhibit featuring a performance by new Clarke faculty member Miles McConnell on guitar. The reception will take place from 12-2 p.m. in the gallery.
Along with exhibit by Wold, the gallery space will include a tribute exhibit of September 11, 2001by students in his Art Publication Design class. This component, entitled “9/11 Remembrance and Memory” will debut on Monday, September 12.
The Quigley Gallery is open Monday through Friday from noon-5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
