Chris Miron named MCC NAIA Coach of Character Award recipient

For the second straight year, Clarke University Head Women's Volleyball Coach Chris Miron has been named the recipient of the Midwest Collegiate Conference NAIA Coach of Character Award. The annual award is given to a head coach of a member institution who has been outstanding in embracing the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character initiative, using methods of teaching character through sport, and in community leadership through volunteering or service. Sargent named recipient of MCC Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award

Clarke University senior Tara Sargent, of DePere, Wis., has been named the recipient of the 2013 Midwest Collegiate Conference Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award. Sargent, a four-year member of Coach Chris Miron's volleyball squad, is now eligible for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award, one of the most prestigious honors given by the NAIA. The award recognizes a student-athlete who excels in athletics and academics and is committed to the Champions of Character program's five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
