Religious Studies

Grounded in a commitment to the Catholic tradition, the religious studies program is designed to encourage students of all religious persuasions to grow in personal faith, to integrate spiritual values into all areas of life, and to develop understanding of and appreciation for a diversity of sociocultural, religious paths. Given our Catholic heritage and that the majority of students come from a Christian background, the program is designed to assist these students in an adult appropriation of Christian faith. Through a variety of course offerings, students are given the opportunity to explore the religious dimensions of human existence; to think critically, creatively, and holistically; and to recognize the intrinsic connection between faith and ethical responsibility in relation to society and the global community.
