Clarke to hold Earth Day presentation featuring Frank Babka

April 17, 2013: In honor of Earth Day, the Clarke University Sustainability Committee is pleased to host a presentation entitled “Future Global Outlook: Food, Water and Resources” by Frank Babka on Monday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in the Atrium Conference Room on Clarke’s campus.  

Originally from Dubuque, Babka worked for Cargill Inc. in the global food business for a number of years, and is now a full-time philanthropist, volunteer and public speaker. He studies a wide variety of issues related to world resources, demographics, environmental problems, future challenges, global trends, etc. Babka has traveled in a number of developing nations throughout the world with various nonprofit groups, and he frequently shows pictures and video of his travels to a wide variety of audiences in the upper Midwest. As part of his presentation, Babka will include video of sustainable farming and water methods in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Babka lives in a suburb of Minneapolis and is very active in a local Rotary club, and a Presbyterian church.
