Clarke Alumni Part of Voices of the Warehouse

July 22, 2013: Three Clarke University alumni will have work on exhibit in the 2013 Voices of the Warehouse display.

Ellen Hartmann Henkels, class of 1974; Jason Scott, a 2002 graduate; and Megan Kalmes, class of 2008; will have work displayed from Sept. 7 to Oct. 4 in the gallery at 10th and Jackson streets in Dubuque.

Voices is a month-long art exhibit and cultural event located in a re-purposed 15,000-square-foot gallery space within Dubuque’s Historic Millwork District. Voices began as a way for the artist’s voice to be heard, and quickly gathered support from the Dubuque community. It is now in its ninth year.

Henkels, of Dubuque, is exhibiting a painting titled “Artistic Spirit- Passion and Renewal Through Revelation.”

Kalmes, formerly of Dubuque and now living in Chicago, is displaying a series of paintings titled “Bathers.”

Scott, formerly of Dubuque and now living in Prairie du Sac, Wis., is displaying an exhibit that “poses some simple questions pertaining to the possible origins of our beloved tech, while remaining ownable objects of modern interior design.”
