2015 Scholarship Recipients

 

andrew Andrew Gates, Lancaster, Wisconsin
 
Andrew Gates, a graduate of Lancaster High School, played basketball and golf all four years of high school. He received Academic All-State honors from the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin in 2014 and helped the Lancaster golf team win its first state championship. Additionally, Andrew played first chair trumpet in the band, marching band and pep band and for the musical Cabaret. His volunteer activities included working with kindergarten students at Winskill Elementary and Little Arrows, a basketball program that teaches the sport’s fundamentals to rising stars.

Olivia Haack, Grand Mound, Iowa
 
Olivia Haack is a graduate of Central High School in DeWitt, Iowa, and has taken early college courses at Eastern Iowa Community College. In high school, she was a three-sport athlete, competing in volleyball (which she co-captained), softball and golf. She was a member of Future Business Leaders of America and the Honor Roll, maintaining a consistent grade-point average of 4.0. She performed with Central High’s choir group and volunteered with Saber Summer Volleyball Camp and Vacation Bible School.

Caroline Herrig, Bellevue, Iowa
 
Caroline Herrig is a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was listed all four years on the High Honor Roll. Caroline was also the recipient of the American Citizenship Award, which is bestowed upon students who demonstrate a high level of character in school, community and faith. She was a two-sport athlete, competing in both softball and track and field, and was a member of the Spirit Club. She participated in the Big East Conference Art Show and the Bellevue Art Exhibit, where she won four first-place awards. She was an active member at St. Donatus Parish and volunteered with the Dubuque Humane Society.

Danielle Kaiser, Cuba City, Wisconsin
 
Danielle Kaiser, a graduate of Cuba City High School, was president of the National Honor Society and president of her class student council. She was honored as Tri-County Press Student of the Week and Platteville Journal Teen of the Week in addition to maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average on the Distinguished Honor Roll list. She served as a member of her church youth group and participated in mission trips to Colorado and North Carolina to work with impoverished citizens. She was president of the Spanish Club and vice president of both the Leo Club and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She will major in nursing at Clarke University.

anne Anne Nolting, Preston, Iowa
 
Anne Nolting, a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School, competed as a three-sport athlete in high school and played at the varsity level in basketball all four years. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spirit Club and served on the stage crew for plays and musicals. She received the High Honor Roll Award, Perfect Attendance Award and the American Citizenship Award, which is bestowed upon students who demonstrate a high level of character in school, community and faith. She was also the graphic designer for her high school’s Dance Marathon, creating shirts, posters and donation buckets.

Gabrielle Waddick, Dubuque, Iowa
 
Gabrielle Waddick is a graduate of Hempstead High School and has taken early college courses at University of Dubuque, Clarke University, Loras College and Northeastern Iowa Community College. She was elected by her peers to serve on Hempstead’s student senate all four years of high school and participated in the German Club in addition to receiving the AP Scholar with Honors award from the National College Board. For four years, Gabrielle served as the men’s sophomore and varsity basketball manager and volunteered for the Special Olympics. In addition, she co-captained Hempstead’s soccer team and competed with the cross country players. At Clarke, she will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Master of Organization Leadership degree.
