The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated communally during the penitential seasons of Advent and Lent. Individual reception of the sacrament can be arranged with a Chaplain by calling x6364 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is the process for persons who desire full initiation into the Catholic Church. This includes preparation for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Any Clarke student interested in receiving one or all of these sacraments should contact the Director of Campus Ministry, Anastasia Nicklaus, at x8192 or via e-mail early in the first semester. RCIA programs are completed in time for the sacraments which are celebrated during the Easter season.
Eucharistic liturgy is the fount and summit of Christian life and as such takes a central place in the campus life of Clarke University. “Active participation in Eucharistic liturgy leads to commitment to the world of equality and justice that is mirrored when the body of Christ gathers at table." (Kathleen M. Hughes. “Overview of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy”. The Liturgy Documents: A Parish Resource, Third edition. Chicago: Liturgy Training Publications, 1991, 3.)
