March 16, 2016, Iowa – Marcus Ramahlo de Jesus, a
Clarke University graduate, will perform a classical guitar recital at Clarke
University in Jansen Music Hall on Friday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is
Ramahlo de Jesus is a Brazilian guitarist who graduated from
Clarke in 2014. Currently, he studies at Southern Illinois University where he
will finish his master’s degree in classical guitar performance. He performs in
many orchestras, including the honor of being principal guitarist of the
Southern Illinois University guitar orchestra.
"Marcus is a very fine
young musician,” said Miles McConnell, adjunct professor of Music at Clarke who
teaches guitar. “He has a winning combination of solid technical
abilities on the guitar, strong musicianship, and an engaging stage
presence. Marcus has a bright future in music, and he will be sure to
deliver a very enjoyable evening of guitar playing."
