The Clarke College Arts at Clarke Gold Series will host a performance by soprano Susan Dunn, accompanied by pianist David Heid, on Tuesday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Jansen Music Hall on the Clarke campus. Tickets for the event are $5 and can be reserved beginning Tuesday, Feb. 28, by calling (563)584-8642 weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Susan Dunn, an associate professor of the practice of music at Duke College, has appeared at New York’s Lincoln Center and at the Metropolitan Opera with the New York Philharmonic in concert with Luciano Pavarotti for “Pavarotti & Friends.”
She has also appeared with the orchestras of Rotterdam and Amsterdam, the Berlin Radio Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Chicago Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, and the Atlanta Symphony.
David Heid is a piano teacher and accompanist at Duke College. A composer, arranger and conductor, his coaching clients include past Grammy and Tony Award winners. Additionally, he continues to work extensively in gospel music and has recorded on a number of Christian labels. He has toured the U.S. and Canada and directs “The Voices of St. John’s MCC.”
