Senior Voice Recital for Clarke’s Schwalb on April 16

April 5, 2016: The Clarke University Music Department announces the Senior Vocal Recital of William James Schwalb, tenor, on Saturday, April 16, at 8 p.m. in Jansen Music Hall.

Accompanied by Dr. Sharon Jensen on piano, Schwalb will present a diverse assortment of classical music from Strauss Lieder to Verdi opera. Other selections include Bach, Mozart, Puccini and pieces from “West Side Story” and “The Light in the Piazza.” Admission is free.

Schwalb has appeared onstage with several local Dubuque theater companies with starring roles in Rising Star’s “Children of Eden” (Father), the Grand Opera House’s “Les Misérables” (Enjolras), and Clarke University’s “Godspell” (John the Baptist/Judas). After graduation in May 2016 he will continue studying voice next year at the University of Kansas to pursue a Master’s of Music in Voice Performance.
