Clarke Professor’s Music to be Performed on Iowa Public Radio

June 23, 2016: The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra will perform a work by Clarke Professor of Music Dr. Amy Dunker during a performance that can be heard on Iowa Public Radio on June 26-27.

Iowa Public Radio will broadcast the Dubuque Symphony’s “Symphonic Fantasties” concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 26, and at 7 p.m. Monday, June 27. Iowa Public Radio can be heard on the following frequencies: 97.7 in Dubuque; 91.7 in Iowa City/Cedar Rapids; and 89.5 in Cedar Falls/Waterloo. It can also be heard at 90.9 on KUNI and online through the streaming media player found at www.iowapublicradio.org.

Along with Dunker, the Symphony’s performance includes works by Rachmaninoff and Berlioz, and spotlights Russian piano virtuoso Natasha Paremski.

Dunker’s piece Imagine Dragons is a dramatic fanfare opener for the program. The symphony will also perform Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto and concludes with Berlioz’s dazzling masterpiece Symphonie fantastique. The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra is conducted by William Intriligator.
