By Clarke News  |  July 15, 2016

Clarke University’s Physical Therapy program ranked No. 19 in the country in a survey done by graduateprograms.com. Clarke was the only school in Iowa ranked among the top 40 programs in the U.S.

The website ranks the best graduate school programs in the country in a wide variety of subjects, based on student surveys. Clarke scored highest in the “Satisfaction with Degree” category with a perfect score of 5.0. Other high scores for Clarke were 4.65 in “Career Advising,” 4.6 in “Quality of Instruction,” and 4.4 in “Campus Safety.”

One student wrote,

“The Clarke physical therapy faculty strive to make each student’s learning experience successful by offering a variety of classroom and clinical activities,” O’Dell said. “The students are engaged in hands-on experiences starting in their second semester by participation in our Clinical Practicum where students treat patients from the Dubuque Community. The quality of the Clarke PT program is also greatly enhanced by the partnership with over 600 clinical sites in Dubuque and across the country. These dedicated clinicians help our students bridge the gap from the classroom to clinical practice. It is nice to see the hard work of the Clarke faculty and clinical instructors be recognized in this manner.”

According to its website, the goal of graduateprograms.com in presenting this school data is to create a standardized and trustworthy method to assess institutions based on reliable statistics. Together with internal recommend rate data, which is calculated based on tens of thousands of student reviews submitted to the graduateprograms.com site, the data used in the school listings were gathered in 2015-2016 from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). This site is the primary governmental entity for gathering and presenting data related to education.
