What does a typical day look like for you?
My day ranges from having our team in the weight room to on-court practice in-season to spending days on the road recruiting. My typical day can vary from sitting in front of the computer to being at an AAU event with hundreds of prospects and other coaches to game-day coaching and travel. The lack of routine makes my days enjoyable and challenging.
Do you have professional involvements outside of Clarke?
I am on the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Being on the road recruiting.
What has been your greatest experience here at Clarke?
It wasn’t a single experience, but rather a feeling of being welcomed. It seemed I heard someone welcome me to Clarke daily my first few weeks here.
Why did you choose Clarke?
Clarke chose me, so it seems. I was content to be the Benton High School basketball coach for the remainder of my career when I received a call asking me if I might be interested in coaching college basketball. I was in the right place at the right time and landed the assistant coach position. Then when Coach Drymon departed, I was again in the right place at the right time and am now head men’s basketball coach!
What is something that you enjoy about the campus?
The friendly atmosphere.
