Diana's Teaching Philosophy:
This is a BIG question as my philosophy has evolved over more than 30 years of College teaching. I would sum it up by saying I begin by creating interest in the subject at hand and then help students find ways to make the material relevant to them.
Diana's Professional Involvement:
I have written free-lance articles for various publications. Lately, I have written about travel in Italy and about the Italian press for various publications.
Diana's Greatest Clarke Experience:
Working with students on the "Courier" and "Catalyst" staff. We just have a great, fun time working together to put out these publications. And I love seeing students finding themselves getting more and more involved in the work.
Why students should choose Clarke:
Clarke offers students a chance to really stand out as individuals. Lots of great faculty and staff who really are interested in getting to know students and in helping them achieve their goals.
Diana's Extracurricular Activities and Interests:
I was an English major so I love to read. I love to go boating and swimming in the summer. I also study Italian and love to travel.
What Diana enjoys about Dubuque:
Dubuque is a beautiful, hilly town with great vistas. Truly a unique landscape for Iowa.
Diana's Favorites:
Some of my favorite books are "As I Lay Dying," "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "A Confederacy of Dunces."
