Teaching philosophy: My
goal as a teacher is to always strive to do my best and look for ways to
continually improve my teaching methods. I value the feedback I receive from my
students either during the course or on my evaluations. I incorporate that
feedback into my future coursework. The beauty of teaching for me is that every
day or class is different.
Clarke’s impact on Teri: I have been teaching at Clarke
for 20 years. The length of my tenure is a testament to the Clarke community.
Clarke is an extremely welcoming environment. Everyone is on a first-name
Teri’s impact on students: No
two students are alike. Students bring many different gifts and knowledge to
the classroom. The joy is to see students grow and improve in their critical
thinking, communication, and knowledge skills.
I know accounting is not the most glamorous subject, but I hope my
students take something of value away from my class and can apply what they
have learned to their professional and/or personal lives.
