At Clarke’s hands-on workshop, you’ll get a glimpse into our Communication major. You’ll craft a compelling story, record and edit your own podcast using Clarke’s technology, and entice audiences to listen to your creative work!

8:45 -9 a.m. | Introduction to the Communication Workshop |
9-11:15 a.m. | Podcast Workshop Develop your storytelling and media literacy skills. In this workshop, we will discuss the essential ingredients for a compelling story, how to write for the ear, and begin brainstorming and recording short podcasts, either individually or in small groups. Then, learn how to produce your podcasts using Audacity software and Clarke's whisper rooms. You will record your stories, begin to edit your work, and even add sound effects and music, if you like. |
11:15 a.m.- 12:00 | Lunch with Current Communication Students |
12:00- 2 p.m. | Presentation Workshop Ideas don't speak for themselves; they need advocates. Learn to make the case to others about your creative work. Building off the morning podcast tutorials, this workshop introduces the basics for how to arrange a compelling message about your podcast enhanced by beautiful and effective presentational media. Then, put it into practice. |
