Clarke University Golf Classic

To date, more than 30 businesses and individual donors have come together to sponsor and support the 33rd annual Clarke University Golf Classic. Established by Therese Mackin, BVM ’50 in collaboration with Bernadine Geisler ’43 and Sonia Hickson to support the fundraising efforts of Clarke, this annual event underwrites scholarship support for incoming students from the tri-state region. Each student is awarded a $1,000 renewable scholarship for up to four years.   

The 2021 Clarke Classic will be held at the Dubuque Golf and Country Club on June 7, 2021, and offers participants 18 holes of golf, as well as food and drinks served in a relaxed and socially distanced atmosphere. Our volunteer committee, co-chaired by Andy Schroeder ’02, ’10M and Kara Schroeder ’04, ’16M is comprised of alumni, staff members, and community volunteers dedicated to providing a fun and exciting event. 

This year we are offering an online auction experience with both silent and timed (live) auction items. Attendance at the event is not required to participate in the online auction. Silent auction items will be available for bidding beginning on Friday, May 7, and additional items will be added throughout the month. The timed auction will feature a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences, which will only be available for bidding from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 7. The following items and experiences are a sampling of our 2021 timed auction offerings.  

  • An exclusive rooftop party on the Skyscape of the newly renovated Dupaco Voices Building in the Historic Millwork District of Downtown Dubuque. Sponsored by Dupaco Community Credit Union and Clarke University Dining Services 
  • A dinner for 8 with Dr. Thom Chesney, prepared by Clarke Director of Dining Services Miles Breed and Clarke Executive Chef Steve Neese hosted at Brazen Reserve in the Historic Millwork District of Downtown Dubuque. Sponsored by Clarke University and Clarke University Dining Services 
  • $2,000 gift card to Home+FloorShow. Sponsored by Clarke Trustee Emeritus Dick Gregory and Mary Jean Gregory ’79 and Home+FloorShow 
  • Golf and a meal for 12 individuals at the Dubuque Golf and Country Club. Sponsored by the Dubuque Golf and Country Club
