‘Drop Dead Diva’ Brooke Elliott to Perform at Clarke

Brooke Elliott, Broadway performer and television actress, will perform in Jansen Music Hall on the Clarke University campus at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 24.
Elliott portrayed “Jane Bingum,” the star and title character of Lifetime Television’s hit series “Drop Dead Diva.” For her role, Elliott received the 2012 Women’s Image Network Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, the 2010 Gracie Award for Female Rising Star in a Comedy Series and was nominated for a 2014 PRISM Award for Best Performance in a Comedy Series.
Some of her Broadway performances included roles in “The Pirate Queen,” “Wicked,” and “Taboo.” Most recently, she joined the cast of the new CBS show “Upper Middle Bogan.”
“Brooke Elliott is an accomplished singer and actress who has led an esteemed career on Broadway and television,” said Joe Klinebriel, associate drama professor at Clarke. “Expect a concert of moving, beautifully sung and expressed songs spanning the ranges of musical theatre, pop and country music.”
