By Clarke News  |  November 21, 2016

November 16, 2016: Clarke University’s For a Blessed Christmas concert will be performed Saturday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m.

Staged in the beauty of Clarke’s Sacred Heart Chapel, “For a Blessed Christmas” is a moving portrayal of the Christmas story through an exciting mix of narration and musical performances. This holiday tradition is a favorite in the Dubuque area and features performances by Clarke choirs and instrumental ensembles under the direction of Clarke faculty members Jeremy Mims and David Resnick.

Special guests will the Dyersville Beckman Catholic High School Choir and soprano CJ Greer.

“A great highlight will be the fact the winds, strings and choirs will be performing several things together,” said Jeremy Mims, assistant professor and chair of the Clarke Music Department. “CJ Greer will be the soloist for the evening. She has extensive performing experience on Broadway and in regional theatres around the country.”

Greer, who is the new voice professor at Clarke, brings with her a wealth of performance credits. Broadway/Tour credits include “Sister Act,” “Les Miserables,” “The Producers,” “Ragtime,” and “I Love a Piano.” Greer will be joined by over 100 other musicians from the Clarke community, performing traditional and contemporary favorites in a stirring concert celebrating the spirit of Christmas.

General admission tickets are $10. To purchase tickets visit www.clarke.edu/blessedchristmas or call (563)584-8642.
