New Faces, New Roles, Come to Institutional Advancement
As we look ahead to 2025 and the launch of our United in Purpose Campaign, The Therese Mackin BVM ’50 Institutional Advancement Office is strengthening our team to better serve our alumni and community.
First, we are thrilled to welcome alumna Erica Davidson as our new Director of Annual Funds. Erica earned her Bachelor of Applied Science from Clarke University in 2023. She brings a wealth of fundraising and community relations experience to the role, having spent several years as the Wellness Director for the Maquoketa Area Family YMCA and a Territory Manager for ImpactLife Blood Services.
“Finishing my degree at Clarke was a dream come true. It had been on my bucket list for 30 years. When seeking out a new career opportunity, I knew Clarke was exactly the place I wanted to be. I enjoy making personal connections and building relationships with others which help me live out Clarke’s values in my own life. I am thrilled to continue my journey with Clarke University.”
Beyond her professional experience, Erica is a member of Quad City Advanced Toastmasters Club where she participates in public speaking opportunities and leadership development. With a background in dance and theatre, Erica is looking forward to supporting the arts at Clarke. Additionally, Erica enjoys spending time with her family and beloved beagle, Winnie.
Next, former development officer Elena Dominguez will become Clarke’s new Director of Alumni Relations. As a two-time graduate of Clarke, Elena brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and campus pride to her role.
Elena grew up in Dubuque and attended Wahlert Catholic High School before enrolling at Clarke. She graduated with a major in Social Work and minor in Psychology in 2020 and continued her education with a Master of Social Work from Clarke in 2021. In each of these programs, she enjoyed the emphasis on building connections with the people and resources around her. Now, she aims to use these skills to build new and lasting relationships with our alumni and community—a passion she shares with her father and fellow Clarke employee, Roberto Dominquez ’13, ’18M .
“As a proud Clarke alum, I know firsthand the deep connection many of us still feel to this incredible institution” Dominguez shared. “The friendships, values, and experiences we gained as students stay with us long after we leave campus. My goal as Director of Alumni Relations is to nurture and celebrate that connection, ensuring alumni continue to feel just as supported and engaged with Clarke as they did during their time here.”
