Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Earns National Recognition

By Clarke News  |  July 9, 2025

The Clarke University Doctor of Physical Therapy program saw a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the national physical therapy licensure exam for the graduating classes of 2023 and 2024. Only four PT programs nationwide achieved this status for graduates during that time frame, according to data from the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. The 2025 cohort will complete their exams in late July.

“This is a testament not just to the dedication and hard work of our students, but to the time and effort of the faculty and clinical partners,” said Chair and Professor of Physical Therapy Brad Kruse. “In recent years, graduates of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Clarke have also enjoyed a 100% job placement rate within six months of graduation. We attract high quality students who become excellent physical therapists and proudly serve communities near and far.”

Capped at just 33 students per cohort, Clarke’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program stands apart thanks to its focus on clinical practice. From a 4:1 ratio working in a medical-grade cadaver lab to completing hundreds of hours of pro-bono physical therapy services for Dubuque community members, students put their knowledge into practice with every session.
