Clarke Lacrosse Hosts Team Vietnam November 22
As one of only four international exhibitions in the country for 2025, Clarke University Lacrosse is honored to host Team Vietnam for a series of games on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Play begins at noon at A.Y. McDonald Field on the Clarke University campus and all games are free for spectators of all ages to attend. Seating at A.Y. McDonald field is limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
The event will include three Olympic-style Lacrosse matches, lasting about 45 minutes each. This includes two series for Clarke Lacrosse against Team Vietnam, as well as one match for Vietnam vs. the Iowa Dogfish, Iowa’s Box Lacrosse team.
Clarke Head Coach and Director of Lacrosse Tucker La Belle ’22 was inspired to coordinate the exhibition after coaching the Bulgarian National Team in 2024. Meeting coaches from around the world lit a fire in him to bring the sport greater recognition in the United States, one game at a time.
“Lacrosse is set to appear in the 2028 Olympics as a demonstration sport for the first time since 1948. Seeing as they will be hosted in Los Angeles, there is no better time for people to discover the game,” La Belle said. “It’s also a fantastic chance for Clarke’s student-athletes to feel what it’s like to play at that Olympic level. We have nine players who could qualify for their national team. A chance like this encourages them to push themselves, push their aspirations, and see what’s really possible.”
Following the exhibition, Clarke University is hosting a special dinner for all athletes and their families sponsored by Matt Delaney of Delaney’s Auto & Ag and Delaney’s Ice Cream.
“Matt has been a fantastic supporter of our team and the community in general,” La Belle said. “Having the dinner together also allows those bonds off the field to grow deeper. It’s a fantastic cultural experience for our student-athletes and the members of Team Vietnam.”
