Teaching Philosophy
I think the integration of lab and lecture in my anatomy courses improves student learning. The two components complement each other and give multiple ways of learning the material. Small and informal labs allow me to get to know my students better. It is important to me that students leave my courses with not only knowing more about the human body but also having gained the skills necessary to think of a solution to a problem by utilizing that knowledge.
Clarke has provided me with a place where my passion for teaching others about the human body can flourish. I often tell prospective students and their families that I have the best job…..I get to teach what I love with great resources to wonderful students.

Additional Information
Besides getting to teach anatomy to Clarke students, I get the opportunity to teach anatomy to the community at multiple levels. I have been able share my expertise with elementary students, high school students, students attending NICC and Capri College of Massage Therapy, local science high school teachers and current physical therapy clinicians. I enjoy being able to interact at different levels and it pushes me to always do my best. These different settings are also opportunities for me to learn. I am always learning something from students, teachers, and clinicians.
