Into the Streets
Clarke’s Day of Volunteering
For over two decades, Clarke students have been doing “Into the Streets” for a half day of service on a Saturday in October. It is Clarke’s largest service event of the year. Students, faculty, and staff divide into teams to donate their time and skills with different nonprofit organizations in Dubuque. They meet new people and connect with the larger Dubuque community. Volunteers do everything from cleaning, painting, and doing yard work to visiting residents of retirement homes, and everything in between. The experience is a memorable one for participants and is integral to the university mission.
