Volunteering & Service
Clarke was founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the values of Freedom, Education, Charity, and Justice. Those values guide our interactions in the classroom and in the community in a variety of ways – it’s why 100% of our students report completing service-learning as part of their Clarke experience.
At Clarke, you’ll have many opportunities to explore the kinds of service you enjoy most, and there are several organizations that can help you make connections in Dubuque and beyond.
Bonner Leaders – Funded by the Corelle & Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, you can earn work-study pay for completing 8-10 service hours each week with a community organization. On average, Bonner Leaders graduate with over 900 hours of community service on their resume!
Campus Ministry – From daily prayer and bible study, to volunteering in the local community and the Into the Streets half day of service, Campus Ministry is an exceptional space for faith exploration and community engagement.
Kutchera Service Trip – Held during Spring Break, this is an intensive one-week excursion where students serve and learn from unique cultures.
Many of our athletic teams, student organizations, and academic programs also arrange volunteer outings throughout the year.
