Call for Reunion Class Representatives

By Clarke News  |  June 20, 2025

Reunion Class Representatives are volunteers from each class who help communicate with classmates about the many exciting events and activities Clarke hosts each year, including our Homecoming events. The time commitment is minimal, but the results can be fantastic!

Eric Jones ’19

Are you curious about getting involved? Eric Jones ’19 and Roger Fuhrman ’94 served as a class representatives in 2024 and address some of the most frequently asked questions about the role:

“What made you want to volunteer?”

Eric: “I volunteered as a Clarke class representative to make a meaningful impact and serve as a conduit for change.”

Roger Fuhrman ’94

Roger: “I wanted to get my classmates back together and plan some really fun events.”

Can you describe the time commitment and type of work involved?

Eric: “It depends on your current projects, and you should aim to dedicate at least 2-3 hours per week to this endeavor. For my involvement, I reached out to alumni in my class to gauge their interests and involvement preferences at Clarke, shared events on social media, and attended events like the Homecoming Tent Party.

Roger: “It didn’t take much time. I mostly focused on getting the word out to people in my class. During Homecoming, I also made a point to be present at as many events as possible, like the Alumni Recognition Breakfast. That’s a fun one because you celebrate achievements and connect with alumni of all ages.”

What did you enjoy most about being a class rep?

Eric: “I enjoy talking to former classmates to catch up on their accomplishments and what they’ve been up to. I also try to see how we can grow and evolve the Clarke alumni community and keep them engaged.”

Roger: “It’s good to reconnect with people I know, but I also liked seeing the Clarke of today and seeing what is different and what’s the same.”

Why would you encourage others to get involved?

Eric: “I strongly encourage others to get involved because we should continue building our community, embracing the Clarke values and mission, and using your voice to share new ideas and curate exciting events.”

Roger: “Community is what makes Clarke special. It’s great to get people back together. It brings you back to how it was, while acknowledging how far we’ve come. The thing that connects us all is a love for Clarke.
