Drama & Musical Theatre Accolades

Our Drama & Musical Theatre Department was chosen to travel with four productions to the American College Theatre Festival over a period of six years, a feat that only one or two other midwestern colleges or universities have accomplished (out of nearly 100 institutions that participate in this festival).

Chair and Professor of Drama Ellen Gabrielleschi said, “This is a week long festival we attend every January as a department. It is a huge honor to have a production chosen to perform. We have received awards for productions in directing, acting, design, management and music composition!”

The following are some recognitions received:

• In 2014, Oleanna was chosen to perform at the regional festival and received multiple awards, including sound design, student acting, faculty acting and faculty directing.
• In 2013, Next To Normal was chosen as an alternate for the regional festival and received awards for stage management and musical direction.
• In 2012-2013, Triumph of Love entered as a competing production and won awards for faculty costume design and student hair/make-up design.
• In 2013, The Glass Menagerie was selected to perform and received many national and regional awards, including sound design, original composition and directing.
