As a featured event for the celebrated Edward J. and Cathy Gallagher Arts at Clarke Series, Clarke University welcomes classically trained Chicago violinist Windy Indie to campus at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8 in Jansen Music Hall.

With a soulful blend of Hip-Hop, Pop, Classical, and Folk music, Windy Indie brings her eclectic musical vision to a performance that is sure to thrill listeners of all ages. She has been featured at the Chicago Blues Festival, the House of Blues, and on the television show, “Empire” amongst others. She also shares her gifts with the community, serving as a violin instructor in schools and youth programs throughout Chicago.

“Windy Indie is a dynamic musician who reaches across genres and challenges audiences to consider new possibilities through her powerful performances, and we are thrilled that she will be part of our series of events this year!” said Joe Klinebriel, Professor of Drama and Chair of the Arts at Clarke committee. “Her passion for education and philanthropy is also well-aligned with the Clarke core values and presents a wonderful opportunity for our community to think about lifelong and life-changing learning in a new way.”

Windy Indie is free to Clarke students and employees, and the public is welcome to purchase $10 general admission tickets at the door the day of the event. Learn more about Windy Indie and listen to her music at windyindie.com.
