Vocal Ensembles
COLLEGIATE SINGERS is the premiere choral ensemble at Clarke University. The Collegiate Singers have performed in 27 countries, including India, Japan, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Poland. Students chosen by audition for this mixed choir represent all academic areas of the university. Collegiate Singers serve as the university’s ambassadors to the region, the nation and the world.
CANTABILE is a treble chorus at Clarke University. They perform repertoire that stretches from Gregorian chant to vocal jazz guaranteeing an eclectic and meaningful choral experience.
MELOS prepares popular, jazz, and Broadway vocal literature, focusing on rehearsal and preparation for public concerts and special events.
Instrumental Ensembles
WIND ENSEMBLE focuses performing wind ensemble literature. Members of this group are selected to perform with the Iowa Collegiate Honor Band. Wind Ensemble performs a wide array of musical styles at on- and off-campus venues throughout the year.
JAZZ focuses on performing jazz standards and popular styles both at Clarke and in the greater Dubuque community.
STRING ORCHESTRA highlights string repertoire from the traditional classical literature to world music and jazz. Founded in 2015 Clarke’s newest ensemble, the string chamber ensemble adds an exciting and challenging experience to Clarke University’s musical offerings.
