Pre-Professional Health Science

Bachelor of Science

Clarke offers students the opportunity to prepare for entrance into professional programs in the area of health science while completing their undergraduate degree. Many health science programs require a baccalaureate degree as a prerequisite for entrance into the professional program. Although application for admission into professional programs must be sought independently by the student, Clarke pre-professional health science advisers will act as advisers to students who wish to fulfill prerequisites for admission into specific programs. These advisers will also assist students in seeking admission to the following programs.

Michelle Slover

Chair and Professor of Biology

The integration of lab and lecture in my anatomy courses works well. The two components complement each other and provide multiple ways to learn.

Laura Hecker

Assistant Professor of Biology

It is my goal to create a classroom environment that encourages curiosity. I like to remind students that it’s the questions they can’t answer that sometimes end up teaching them the most.

Shaun Bowman

Assistant Professor of Biology

I attempt to relate the coursework to the students’ lives and future career aspirations, while having a lot of fun along the way.

Melissa DeMotta

Associate Professor of Biology

I hope that students learn to appreciate the world around them and the wonder of their own bodies so that they realize science is not scary but fantastic.

Andrea Bixler

Professor of Biology

My courses are challenging – what’s the point of just memorizing the text? Instead, let’s take the information, analyze it and apply it in new situations.

I am in veterinary school at Colorado State.  I can’t thank my Clarke professors enough for the foundation they provided me to study veterinary medicine.

Shelley Shafer
