Clarke Music Program Receives Grant from the Les Paul Foundation

By Clarke News  |  March 17, 2025

Clarke University is pleased to announce it was among a select group to receive a grant from the Les Paul Foundation. The award will support the Clarke Music Program.

The Les Paul Foundation seeks to partner with universities and community schools that encourage an increased interest in the recording arts. Clarke University stood out among the applicants for the Music program’s ability to encourage students in the pursuit of a broad range of musical interests while creating deep and meaningful connections with classmates, faculty, audiences, and the community.

The grant will allow for the purchase of equipment for live sound production and recording. As part of the award, Clarke will host a concert that focuses on the innovations of Les Paul in sound design, and will include opportunities for local high school faculty and students to join in the performance.

“We’re thrilled at the opportunity to provide new equipment and resources to our majors and non-majors alike,” said Rob Stull, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Activities at Clarke University. “This grant acknowledges the quality of our program, and we are honored to contribute to the continuing legacy of Les Paul on the world of music.”
