Raptor Rehab Program to be Held at Clarke’s Kehl Center

Candy and Steve Ridlbauer of the Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education Center will present a live bird of prey educational program on Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center.This program is free and open to the public.The Ridlbauers will discuss the role raptors play in the food chain and the anatomy of the birds. They will also share information about bird of prey rescue and rehabilitation and will discuss conservation issues related to the raptors found in our area. Candy and Steve will bring over a dozen “ambassadors” that they have rescued over the last few years in an effort to help us understand raptors and understand how many of them have learned to coexist with humans.The Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to rehabilitation of injured, sick and orphaned birds of prey with the goal of returning healthy birds back to the wild, as well as educating the public about wildlife, conservation, ecology and habitats in the forum of utilizing “live” birds of prey and other biological tools.
