In recent years, small Catholic institutions like ours have faced significant financial and enrollment challenges. Sadly, some have been forced to close their doors. Clarke University is determined that this will not be our path. Rooted in the Core Values of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM), we remain steadfast in our mission. This is a time for us to come together as one Clarke community to sustain our BVM Catholic heritage, strengthen our impact on students, and secure our future for generations to come.
To secure Clarke’s future we must adapt and be “progressive with the times.” Change is never easy, yet it brings opportunity to grow in different ways while remaining true to who we are as an educational institution.
Our plan is clear. The Board of Trustees has established the BVM Legacy and Innovation Fund with a goal of raising $10 million over the next two years. We are heartened to share that ore than $5 million has already been committed by generous donors who believe deeply in Clarke’s future.
The BVM Legacy and Innovation Fund will:
- Sustain operations
- Invest in academic programs
- Provide flexibility to navigate change wisely
