Cast & Crew and Mock Trial Scholarships
Do you have a flair for the dramatic? Are you compelled to explore both the emotional and the logical side of every story? Do you want to build your confidence as a leader, presenter, and more? Then Clarke’s Theatre offerings are waiting for you!
Here are two unique ways to get involved:
Mock Trial
Students work in teams to analyze a case, develop a trial strategy, and perform the roles of lawyers and witnesses. It is an excellent opportunity to develop your critical thinking and reasoning skills, as well as teamwork, research, and presentation abilities.
Cast & Crew
The student theatre organization unites students interested in acting, directing, set design and more to put on large and small-scale productions, including student-written works.
Each program will prepare you to be a critical thinker who can lead and adapt on the fly – skills that stand out on a resume for employers and graduate schools alike. Plus, you’ll earn a $1,000 renewable scholarship for participating!
The Benefits of Being Involved
- $1,000 renewable undergraduate scholarship each year you participate
- Faculty support, as well as guidance from professionals in the Dubuque community
- Friendships and mentorships with peers and professors
- Unique access to Terence Donaghoe Hall, our historic theatre space
- Broader travel opportunities for cultural engagement, such as trips to American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin
Award Details:
- Students who indicate an interest in ‘theater’ (Cast & Crew) or Mock Trial on their application will be automatically considered for a scholarship.

- Students may choose to participate in both activities, but will be awarded one scholarship for Cast & Crew.
- These awards will mostly be given prior to a student entering Clarke, but walk-on awards are possible.
- If a student is an athlete with a LOI, this amount is INCLUDED in the LOI and will not be in-addition-to the award total presented on the LOI prior to matriculation.
