Outstanding Achievement Award Winner

The Outstanding Achievement Award is presented for exceptional professional achievement and success.

Roger Fuhrman ’94

Over the last 20 years, Roger Fuhrman has built a reputation for excellence in the world of sales, technology, and Software-as-a-Service organizations. He has helped grow start-ups into multi-million-dollar enterprises on an international scale.

“Within a span of seven years, I developed and executed sales and marketing strategies that transformed a start-up company into a nimble, cost-effective entity. I expanded a $10 million SaaS company into an $85 million recurring revenue powerhouse while maintaining an impressive 92 percent revenue retention year over year. My efforts also extended our global presence, reaching into Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Moreover, I played a pivotal role in securing a $55 million investment from Summit Investment Partners.”

Currently, he serves as Director of Business Development for Northern Lights Technology Development, which is owned by the Taylor Corporation, a $2.5 billion company.. There, he leads the go-to-market sales and marketing strategies.

While Roger’s expertise has advanced technology, his experience at Clarke and with the BVM Core Values push him to benefit the common good as well. In 2017, he had the privilege to speak to the United Nations as part of a panel on web accessibility, particularly for those with disabilities. Additionally, he has shared his time and talents with many nonprofits, most recently serving as a Board Member for Midwest Contact Centers Association and a Customer Experience Program Advisory Board Member for the University of Minnesota, Mankato.

“Navigating through the halls of Clarke, I discovered more than academic knowledge. I discovered my potential. The experiences I had there weren’t just connections, they were life-altering lessons,” Roger said. “This accolade isn’t just about the recognition. The journey to arrive here has been one of resilience, persistence, and continuous learning. I recall those late nights spent studying, and the unwavering support from my mentors and peers. Each challenge, every success, shaping me into a better professional, a resilient leader.”

“This award is a validation of that journey, recognition of the value of every study session, every tough exam, every insightful lecture. Each relationship, each encounter, each experience has curved my path, guiding me to where I am today and illuminating where I wish to be.”

“To everyone reading this: embrace the challenges, build resilience, and never stop learning. Who knows, the next person that you meet might be the one that fuels your big break! Your journey could be the inspiration for the next generation of leaders.”
