Resources for Accepted International Students
Congratulations on your acceptance!
Before we can issue your Form I-20, U.S. government regulations require international students to provide documentation showing sufficient financial resources to cover the first year of estimated expenses while studying in the U.S.
Required Documents
To begin the I-20 process, please submit the following:
- Statement of Financial Plan
- Affidavit of Financial Support . Items must be fully completed and signed by each sponsor.
- Proof of Financial Resources
Submit one or more of the following documents to show that your sponsor(s) can support the total estimated expenses for one academic year:
- A personal bank statement from a checking, savings, deposit, or current account that includes:
- Sponsor’s full name
- Current balance
- A bank letter (on bank letterhead) that includes:
- Date of Statement
- Type of account
- Average balance
- Current balance.
- A scholarship or sponsorship letter that confirms:
- Funding amount
- Funding source(s)
- Award dates
- Approved program of study
Bank documents Must:
- Be less than 3 months old
- Clearly state the type of currency
- Include the account holder’s full name
- Copy of your passport
- $200 enrollment deposit
The I-20 will not be issued until your deposit, and all required documents are received.

After You Receive Your I-20
Once you receive your Form I-20, you must:
- Schedule an appointment at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate in your home country.
- Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee.

Important Deadlines
Students Requiring a New I-20
Fall Semester Start:
- Admission Deadline: July 1
- Financial Documents & Deposit Due: July 15
Spring Semester Start:
- Admission Deadline: December 1
- Financial Documents & Deposit Due: December 15
Students Transferring a Valid I-20 from a U.S. Institution
Fall Semester Start:
- All materials (admission, documents, and deposit) due: August 8
Spring Semester Start:
- All materials due: December 19
Final Arrival Deadline
To ensure proper enrollment and compliance with university and immigration policies, all new international students must meet the following deadlines:
Registration Deadline:
New students must be registered no later than Thursday before classes begin (for both fall and spring semesters).
Arrival Deadline:
Students should plan to arrive on campus and attend classes by the third day of the semester to be counted in official course enrollment.
Arriving and registering on time is essential for maintaining your visa status and ensuring a smooth start to the semester.
