Musical Menus Tradition at Clarke University March 24 & 25

By Clarke News  |  March 13, 2017

One of the area’s best dinner theatre events returns to Clarke University when Musical Menus is presented on Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25, in the R.C. and Celeste Wahlert Atrium.

This annual Clarke tradition features a gourmet five-course meal and musical performances by students and faculty. The evening includes solo and small ensemble performances, as well as performances by the Clarke Collegiate Singers, the Clarke Cantabile Singers and Clarke Instrumental Ensembles.

“Musical Menus is an opportunity for our vocal and instrumental students to showcase their talents on stage,” says Jeremy Mims, assistant professor of music and chair of the music department. “As audience members are treated to the fabulous meal designed by Miles Breed, soloists and ensembles will perform musical theatre, pop and jazz favorites. The proceeds of the event help to provide opportunities for our music students. Come enjoy a fabulous evening!”

Seating begins at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday evenings. Ticket prices for the meal and performance are $70 for premier seating and $60 for gold seating. Reservations are required and may be made until March 17 by calling (563)588-6575, or by visiting www.clarke.edu/artsatclarke/musicalmenus

Funds raised from Musical Menus go towards a variety of Clarke Music department initiatives including private lessons, music scholarships, new equipment, and travel expenses for the university’s ensemble tours.
