Computer Center (IT)

Students have access to 17 computer labs across the campus. The labs are composed of a variety of operating systems that may include MacOS, Windows 10/11.

The Information Services staff is responsible for supporting both the wired and wireless network on campus.  In addition they also support the workstations that faculty and staff use and any servers and other hardware that is connected to the network.

Data Breach/Identity Theft

If you believe you have been the victim of a data breach resulting in identity theft, you should take immediate action. First, reset the password on the account that was compromised, as well as any other account using the same password. Make sure to reset your password to something unique for every account you create. You should then report the identity theft as soon as possible.

Connecting to Clarke

Email

All students registered for classes for the summer, fall and spring semesters will have an email account created for them. Your user-id and password information, as well as instructions, will be distributed during the CU Registration activities. If you do not attend, the information will be placed in your campus mailbox. If you are an adult or graduate student, you may obtain your user-id and password information from the Adult and Graduate Studies Office.

On-Campus

Residence hall network connection — Student-owned computers, meeting campus network computer requirements, may connect to the campus network to access the internet.  The network can be accessed wirelessly in every residence hall.  If a student finds they need a wired connection in order to access the network, notify the Help Desk at ext. 6390.

Wireless network access — Clarke is a wireless campus. The Student wireless network can be accessed from across campus from any computer with a wireless network card.

Off-Campus

Student access from off-campus — Currently enrolled students can access Clarke’s MyMail, MyInfo, and MyMoodle from any computer connected to the Internet and a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.

Software and Hardware

Students, Faculty and Staff may purchase, or obtain free, various software and hardware through vendor programs for Clarke University.

Microsoft Office

Clarke students, faculty and staff can download Microsoft Office for free.

Office 365 ProPlus is a free subscription to the latest version of Office.  You may install it on up to a combination of 5 devices, including PC’s or Macs, tablets (Windows, iPads and Android) and/or smart phones.  You must connect to an internet connection every 30 days to keep the software current and active.

To log in:
Go to:  https://portal.microsoftonline.com/
Log in using your  firstname_lastname@clarke.edu  as your username. This username is unique to the portal and not used for any other Clarke system.
Use your Clarke email password to log in
Click the Install Button
Click Save or Run (depending on browser used to install Office)
Office will install – then ask for a product key or for the user to sign-in
Select Sign in and use the unique username and password used above
Connect to an internet connection once every 30 days to ensure current licensing

ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD

Adobe CREATIVE CLOUD products may be purchased at a discounted monthly subscription price.

To log in: Create an account using your Clarke email address as your username and create a password. Account verification occurs through your Clarke email account.

APPLE

Apple also offers the Clarke Community special discounts and offers.

DELL

Dell has established a URL for the Clarke community to access Dell’s Member Purchase Program. The program includes discounts on personal purchases (laptops, desktops, and accessories), financing options and free shipping.

LENOVO

Lenovo offers a 6% discount on select commercial-grade devices to the Clarke Community. Additional warranties and accessories are also available.
