Bridge Program (MSN to DNP)
Learning Today. Leading Tomorrow.
Apply NowStudents who possess a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and desire to complete a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) may complete an MSN-DNP bridge program. The bridge is 39-48 credits depending on whether a student had completed the 3 Ps (Physical Assessment, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology) in the MSN program. Bridge classes are predominantly online with occasional required face-to-face meetings on campus. Most students can complete the program in two years.
The focus of a practice doctorate is leadership in the field of nursing. Students will focus the advocacy, policy, economics, informatics, and evidence-based practice. A scholarly project is required.
A total of 1,000 clinical hours is required for the DNP. Students may subtract the number of hours completed in their MSN program from the total.
