Classes Cancelled 12/1

To allow students additional time to travel back to campus after the Thanksgiving holiday and the weekend’s inclement weather, the university is cancelling all classes on Monday, Dec. 1.

At this time, the university will remain open with normal operations. As always, university leaders encourage employees and students to put safety first when deciding to travel to campus during the winter months. If employees cannot make it to campus on Monday, they need to coordinate with their supervisor to arrange to work remotely or take leave.

Snow Emergency Parking in the City of Dubuque is being enforced. Those parking on Clarke Drive should move their vehicle to a parking lot to allow city crews to remove snow and avoid receiving a ticket or being towed.

Bridge Program (MSN to DNP)

Learning Today. Leading Tomorrow.

Apply Now

Students who possess a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and desire to complete a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) may complete an MSN-DNP bridge program. The bridge is 39-48 credits depending on whether a student had completed the 3 Ps (Physical Assessment, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology) in the MSN program. Bridge classes are predominantly online with occasional required face-to-face meetings on campus. Most students can complete the program in two years.

The focus of a practice doctorate is leadership in the field of nursing. Students will focus the advocacy, policy, economics, informatics, and evidence-based practice. A scholarly project is required.

A total of 1,000 clinical hours is required for the DNP. Students may subtract the number of hours completed in their MSN program from the total.
